I was born in 1964 in River Vale, New Jersey, the third of four brothers. Our home was a creative environment. My mother and father were very nurturing, making certain that music and art were prominent in our young lives. I leaned towards drawing and cartooning as a child, while playing an instrument went no deeper than my short time at the cello.

I attended art school at SUNY Purchase, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and printmaking in 1986. From there, I moved to New York City, where I earned my living working in various industries. I spent a number of years running the pre-press camera department at the Village Voice. I also worked for some time as assistant to Red Grooms in his studio, helping to create some of his 3-D artwork. From there, I transitioned into the filmmaking business, where I established myself as a Production/Set Designer for film, theater and television. Among my credits are: “The Wedding Banquet”, directed by Ang Lee, continued collaborations with the directors Steve Buscemi (“Tree’s Lounge” & “Animal Factory”), Danny Leiner (“Layin’ Low” & “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle”) and Hal Hartley (“Amateur”, “Henry Fool” and “Soon”, a theatrical work which premiered at the 1998 Salzburg Opera Festival). I have received a number of awards for my work as Production Designer for various television promotional campaigns as well as my film work. Relocating to Upstate New York some years ago, I transitioned from the movie business back into a focus on making my own art. I fashioned a harmonious, new lifestyle where I am able to express myself, independently, as an artist. I have a studio in the center of town where I paint, draw and make 3-dimensional work.
